The Birthday Boy!

I can hardly believe a year has gone by since my little baby Enoch was born. It is amazing how much more life speeds up when you have another child. I really cannot see where the time has gone! A year ago today I was wondering if I might have to deliver him at home since my labor started while Kelly was at the Father-and-sons campout with no cell-phone reception, and my car battery was dead. When my contractions got to three minutes apart I decided to call the relief society president (thanks for your help, Kim!) and chance that she might be awake in the middle of the night! She tracked down her husband who was at the campout. Kelly says all he remembers was being in a deep sleep and waking up to a pounding on his tent with voices saying, "hurry home, your wife is having a baby!" He was still somewhat delirious when he got home but he made it! Our beautiful baby boy was born a few hours later--in the hospital--at 6:01 am. He weighed in at 9 lbs even and 21.5 inches long. He has brought us SO much joy with his sweet, cheerful disposition. I can't imagine life without him! We love you Enoch! Happy 1st Birthday!

Hairbows!

So I have been trying for a long time to make cute hairbows and mine just never looked as cute and poofy as my friends her made their girls' bows. So I learned how to do curly-cues and it is so easy. It doesn't require talent and they look cute no matter what. Here is how to do it.
Supplies:
>thin ribbon (I like the ones in the scrapbooking section because they are cute, small, and you don't have to buy a whole spool)
>small dowel (hobby lobby, lowes, and home depot has them)
>bowl of water
>hot glue gun
>scissors
>hair clips (Sally's has the ones for bows)
>needle and thread
>pins
>thimble

Directions:
>Preheat oven to 200 degrees
>Cut your ribbon twice as long as the dowel (if dowel doesn't fit in oven then cut to fit)
>Completely immerse ribbon in water until saturated
>pin one end of ribbon on dowel (use thimble to push it or you will have major imprints on your thumb!) and coil ribbon around dowel tightly
>bake for 20 minutes
>Cut ribbon in pieces to desired length and sew together
>Glue on hair clip (you can also sew the curled ribbon to a straight piece and then glue the straight piece to the clip to cover up the clip)
>Viola! Beautiful bow with no talent required!

Our Movie didn't work

There was supposed to be a movie in the last post but it didn't work so here is a picture instead. He is such a cheerful happy kid and it is SO fun seeing the excitement when he takes steps. I love milestones!!

growing up

Kids grow up way too fast. Enoch is getting close to walking. He will take a few steps but he really prefers to crawl. I worry that he wont be so cute when he can walk. I guess we will see.

Feeding the ducks

Last Monday we went to feed the ducks for FHE and had SO much fun. The weather is finally nice and we can enjoy all the fun things to do. Our favorite is the riverwalk where we feed the ducks, roll down hills, play at parks, see the beach, and hear the giant bell tower chiming beautiful tunes every hour. There is so much ambience in this city!
Haela wasn't afraid to let the ducks eat right out of her hand!
She got a kick out of the geese and ducks gathering around her.
The ducks weren't as fond of Enoch since he just chased them, pulled their feathers, and ate their food off the ground before they could get it!
At least he had a ball!

Poser!

He's thinking, "what shall I eat next?"

Frustrations

So I thought I was completely done with potty-training but suddenly in the last few weeks Haela has been having accidents every few days. She hadn't had an accident in 3 months and then out of no where she reverted back a little. Wetting her pants isn't a big deal but pooping in them is really tough for me. Is this normal to revert back a little? I know it is when there is a big change like a new sibling, etc. but what about when it seems there is no reason? If you have any suggestions please fill me in!
